This week’s Spectrum News Scholar Athlete of the Week is Olivia Fanshawe, a senior at Guilderland High School.

A multi-sport athlete, Fanshawe has competed in varsity cross country all four years, track and field as a junior and senior, as well as lacrosse her freshman and sophomore years.

Off the field, she is a Peer Buddy with the Best Buddies program. Fanshawe also participates in the Key Club, Guilderland Players, Girls Engineering Club, and Suburban Council Leadership Summit.

Outside of school, Olivia is part of the Albany Elite Lax, Youth Ministry Program, religion and singing lessons.

Fanshawe is also very active as a volunteer, helping with the FMS Fall Fest, Teresian House Bingo, St. Vincent’s Xmas Party for the Elderly and Coach Scanlan’s Running Camp.

Olivia has a weighted GPA of 98.98 and is ranked 10^th in her class. She plans on attending college, but is still undecided on a college.

Fanshawe will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
