Troy City Court documents detail a disturbing set of charges stemming from what allegedly happened behind the walls of Rensselaer County Jail.
Correctional officer Sean Morrissey has been charged with two counts each of official misconduct, forcible touching and second-degree sexual abuse.
According to an investigator with the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office, the 47-year-old officer inappropriately and forcibly touched a female inmate on September 20 and 21, at 11 p.m. and 11:14 p.m., respectively.
Morrissey was arrested Wednesday morning and later arraigned before being released. His next court appearance is set for October 2. He’s been suspended without pay.
Rensselaer County Sheriff Patrick Russo did not immediately return a request for comment on these allegations.
