The City of Troy celebrated the completed renovation of the Martin Luther King Apartments on Wednesday.
The original apartments were opened in the 1970s as affordable housing for families. It's since been operated by the Troy Housing Authority.
A ribbon cutting marked the completion of phase one of the project, which included a complete inside-and-out overhaul. This phase of the project took about 15 months to complete.
Phase two will renovate 58 new homes. It will also take about 15 months to complete. Project planning officials are expecting groundbreaking to begin by the end of the year.
