In the Capital Region, some remnants of Florence -- which walloped the Carolinas this weekend -- made their way to the area, leading to heavy rain. For people in Guilderland, that meant dealing with flooding along a road that's a major part of many people's morning commutes.

In front of Stuyvesant Plaza this morning, Western Avenue was completely unrecognizable. Police and road crews were forced to block off an entrance to the shopping center.

In an effort to fix the ongoing issue, the area received $2.75 million in grant money in 2015. But has the issue been fixed?

“We do have a couple of applications for culvert enlargements, so I think our goal in the next couple of years ... we’re going to see substantial improvement," said Guilderland Town Supervisor Peter Barber.
