Monday, family, friends, co-workers, and strangers stopped by Philly Bar & Lounge in Latham for a fundraiser put together to raise money for Caulfield, and raise awareness about domestic violence.

Proceeds will go towards helping Caulfield and her family with anything they might need in her road to recovery and was also put together to raise awareness about domestic violence.

Police say on August 30, Caulfield's husband, Thomas Caulfield, entered her workplace, Beauty and Bliss Spa in Colonie, and stabbed her multiple times in the abdomen and in her arms.

Police credit two passers-by for stopping the attack and preventing a fatality.

Sonya Devoe, a co-worker and event organizer, tells Spectrum News the theme of Monday's fundraiser is "empowerment."

“She's a cancer survivor, and she’s a tough cookie. That's her thing. She's empowered, so we decided to basically name this after her mantra," said Devoe.
