Keep an eye on radar across eastern North Carolina Monday. A few afternoon thunderstorms are possible. While not everyone will see rain, the storms that develop could be a bit intense.

Any storms that develop Monday will have the potential to produce localized downpours, frequent lightning, and damaging wind gusts.  The storms that form should come to an end by evening. The chance to see these scattered storms will be highest east of I-95. Central North Carolina will see a lower chance for rain.

Outside of any storms, much of Monday will be partly sunny with highs in the mid to upper 80s.

Rain chances look lower through the middle of this week. Highs will return to near 90 and the low 90s over the next few days.
