A Saratoga County town is celebrating its 200th birthday, dedicating this weekend to revisiting a dark chapter in American history.

It's Civil War weekend in Wilton. Until Sunday afternoon, dozens of civil war re-enactors are showcasing aspects of a soldier's life back in the 1860's, including battle.

It's $10 to get in, or free for kids 12 and under, or active duty military. Though there's also food, music, and fun family activities, one of those re-actors says they don't forget what representing the Civil War means.

Civil War Weekend is happening on Ballard road in Wilton, nearby Northway exit 16.

Funds raised go to benefit the friends of the Ulysses S. Grant College, who look after that historic site in the town.
