SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- A child's body was found Thursday evening near State Street in Schenectady, the same area where police searched this week for a 4-month-old boy.
An autopsy is expected to determine if the body is Rayen Puleski. Police first put out an alert for the baby boy and his mother, Heaven, on Tuesday. Heaven was located on Wednesday near the Days Inn on Nott Terrace and has been interviewed by police, but Rayen’s whereabouts are still officially unknown.
According to family members, rumors led them to ask for a welfare check and police help on Monday. The child was last seen on camera July 17, they said.
Police are still investigating. Thursday night, the family was furious after they still weren’t getting answers from police, but officials say they cannot move forward in the investigation until they can definitively ID the body.
