A band of thunderstorms moved through the five boroughs Tuesday night and brought thunder and lightning, heavy rain and hail with them.

The storms were particularly bad in Queens, where streets flooded in Rego Park.

Parts of Queens were also hit with hail that was at least quarter-sized.
It wasn't just the flooding that was dramatic. Several Twitter users were able to catch glimpses of lightning strikes from the storm.

The storms moved in right after the start of Tuesday night's Mets game and delayed it by about an hour and 40 minutes. Lightning was spotted there as well - and the team made a reference to pitcher Noah Syndergaard's "Thor" nickname.

Temperatures topped 90 degrees each of the last three days in Central Park, including on Tuesday before the storms moved in. The weather is expected to be hot again Thursday, with temperatures in the high 80s in the city.
