An Albany man learned how long he will spend in prison for shooting a man in the leg during an argument back in January

Leshawn Kittle was sentenced to seven years in state prison Wednesday morning.

Kittle had pled guilty to attempted assault to the shooting.

The victim was treated and survived.

Authorities say Kittle was under the supervision of the Department of Corrections for a previous violent offense and was wearing a monitor bracelet.

Kittle's prison sentence will be followed by five years of post-release supervision.
