One local historic theatre’s junk is turning into someone else’s treasure.
Beginning Tuesday and lasting until the end of the week, Proctors is holding a garage sale of sorts, clearing out old memorabilia and other fixtures.
A Proctors spokesperson tells Spectrum News that the theatre is revamping its gift center in light of all the new shows coming to its stage in the fall and winter. The theater’s operations director says there were countless random items in the basement, and a few things from the gift shop, that were no longer needed.
For the hundreds who came out to the clearence sale inside Key Hall, the opportunity to buy cheap memoribilia was too good to pass up.
“I think it's really cool, because it gives a chance for a lot more people who can't afford things ... so it’s a great deal for people to actually get stuff and more things that they enjoy," said Erik Ebert, an avid theatre-goer.
Proceeds from the clearance sale will benefit the school of performing arts at Proctors.
