SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – High-flying fun returns to the Spa City with Circus Smirkus. Monday afternoon's performance marked the first of four this week at the Saratoga Casino and Hotel.

The three-decade-old traveling circus features acrobats, clowns and other performers, all between the ages of 10 and 18.

Since its founding, Circus Smirkus has raised more than $2.5 million for local non-profits in the communities it visits. For the 12th year in a row, the circus is supporting the Alder School in Saratoga Springs.

"These are really close relationships that we come back to year after year because it's so mutually beneficial,” said Jennifer Carlo. "They help bring us into an area and build the buzz and get the seats filled, and in return, it's an important fundraiser for them."
