Tens of thousands of dollars worth of drugs were seized during the Disc Jam Music Festival in Stephentown this past weekend. Cocaine, marijuana, and numerous psychedelic drugs were on display at a press conference Thursday.

Rensselaer County District Attorney Joel Abelove, along with state police announced the arrests of 21 people -- charges ranging from misdemeanors to felonies. None of those arrested are from the area.

Investigators also saying one man died at the festival at Gardner’s Farm off Route 22 -- his death is being investigated as an overdose.

This was a joint investigation between the State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team and the DA’s office.

Authorities say these arrests are intended to send a message.

"We will continue to aggressively prosecute anyone who brings these drugs into Rensselaer County," said Abelove.

These arrests come less than a year after 19 people were arrested on drug charges during the Fractalfest Music Festival on the same site.

This year’s Fractalfest is scheduled for July.

State police say the promoters or both festivals, and the property owners, have been cooperative and they are not expected to face any charges.
