Governor Andrew Cuomo is now demanding answers for the immigrant children that were separated from their parents at the southern border and ended up in New York.

In an open letter to the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, Cuomo called for more details about where those children are and what services are being provided to them. He estimates there are 345 separated migrant children being housed in the state.

Cuomo says New York will help ensure those kids are well cared for, but they need more information to do that.

The governor also voiced skepticism over the Trump administration's plan to implement family detention centers and he says there's no time to waste. In the letter, he said, "These children are in urgent need of health and mental health services that the state is uniquely positioned to provide."
