This Father Days Weekend, an Albany Church is giving back to the community, one gift bag at a time.

Saturday, members of New Jerusalem of the Saved Church, could be seen driving their van around the Arbor Hill area, and stopping frequently to hand out  small tokens of appreciation.

The gift bags, 120 of them, were handed out to any man the church saw walking the streets Saturday.

The bags included Father's Daay cards, a variety of healthy snacks, and a water bottle.

Pastor Timothy Harper tells Spectrum News his church does the good deed on Mothers Day as well in an effort to spread love during the holidays.

“We wanna reach people who basically not necessarily are celebrating the day because of past situations past scenarios in their lives where they may feel neglected or isolated so our job is to bring hope, joy, love and happiness into their lives," said Pastor Harper.

Saturday marked the fifth year New Jerusalem of the Saved Church has handed out gifts on Father's Day.
