ALBANY, N.Y. — Officials are continuing to reveal details for the proposed Albany Skyway project as public forums provide insight on the ambitious plan.

Capitalize Albany held the second of three public forums Tuesday afternoon, explaining how the city will see a boost in growth once downtown is connected to the riverfront.

The public were able to review four different layouts of the skyway.

Input collected during the public forums will go towards the creation of the final design by project managers, which will be unveiled at the third and final public forum later this summer.

"What we are really concerned about is making sure that this is a responsible use of funding," said Sarah Reginelli, Capitalize Albany President. "This is going to catalyze growth but also it's going to support itself and sustain itself through its operations and activities."

Construction on the Skyway is expected to begin in 2020.
