MALTA, N.Y. -- One man is dead and three others injured after a fire in Malta Wednesday night.
An autopsy will be done to determine 32-year-old Eric Edwards' cause of death. He died after a fire broke out in his home on Woodshire Court just after 9 p.m.
His adoptive father Glenn Broadbent Sr., and two adopted children, 12-year-old Marcus and 5-year-old Lucas, were injured.
Glenn is in critical condition with burns at Westchester Medical Center. His wife, Janette, has been released from the hospital. Marcus suffered burns and is being treated at Shriners Hospital for Children in Boston, while Lucas is being treated for smoke inhalation and is in stable condition.
Glenn and Janette have fostered more than 50 children and adopted 10 children.
The sheriff's office says the fire started in the garage and does not appear to be suspicious, but the cause remains under investigation.
A GoFundMe page has been started to help the family.
