The Constitution Pipeline project has been dealt another blow -- this time by the nation's highest court.

Tuesday the U.S. Supreme Court rejected an appeal by the company, which has been looking to get clearance to build its 125 mile gas line between New York and Pennsylvania for the past five years.

The project hit a snag in 2016, when the New York State DEC denied its application for a water quality certificate under the Clean Water Act.

Constitution appealed that decision to the Second Circuit Court, but lost.  Now the Supreme Court is backing that decision.

The pipeline now has one chance left -- the company petitioned the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, which could still overturn the DEC's decision.
