More than 70 Vietnam Veterans were on an honor flight from the Capital Region on Saturday morning.

Not only was this the first honor flight from Albany so far this year, but Leatherstocking Honor Flight says this is the first time the trip has consisted of only Vietnam War Veterans.

They also say this was the most veterans they've ever taken in one trip.

"It's always a heartwarming time to see these men and women to be able to show them that there's people out there who care and honor and respect their services,” said State Captain of the Patriot Riders of New York Bill Schaaf.

Organizers say the flight returns to Albany International Airport Saturday at 11:10 p.m. and they ask you to ask anyone who can, to come to the airport to welcome the veterans back from their trip.
