With a week to go until Opening Day, the Corinth Little League is turning to the community for help after a fire on Friday damaged most of their equipment.

League officials posted images of the fire on Facebook, saying the fire was most likely caused by an electrical issue.

The league plans to get the fields ready for next weekend's first set of games on Saturday, but now need to replace some uniforms and other equipment.

The little league is also looking for builders, contractors and painters to help them rebuild.

If anyone would like to donate, an account at the Hudson River Community Credit Union has been set up in the Little League's name.

“I lost my heart I think when I saw the smoke coming out of here," said Corinth Little League President Donald Briner.

Briner says eight cases of fries, hundreds of pounds of hot dogs, 20 pounds of oil for the deep fryers and a freezer full of candy were all damaged as well as the equipment.

Opening Day and a parade are set for Saturday.
