A Queensbury kindergartner was surprised with his idea of a "perfect day" Wednesday.

The Warren County Sheriff's Office granted Mason Richards' wish to go on a ride-along, tour the sheriff's office and have lunch with an officer.

Richards recently submitted a letter to The Chronicle newspaper, describing what his perfect day would entail. When it was published, the sheriff's office couldn't wait to fulfill his dream.

"It means a lot, it really does," said Warren County Patrol Officer Joshua Fish. "It's not every day we get to make a positive impact with children, and whenever we get the opportunity to do so, it's one that we want to take."

Mason's parents say he's always had a love for law enforcement and has dreams to pursue a career in it.
