ALBANY, N.Y. -- Albany police say a shooting on Philip Street from Wednesday morning is under investigation.

Police say a 22-year-old man was shot in the leg near Myrtle Ave just after 10 a.m.

Authorities say he was taken to Albany Memorial Hospital and is expected to be OK.

"We find through our investigations of gun violence, they're very isolated in most cases that they're about beefs either between groups or individuals so we still have work to do, we're still trying to put the pieces together here," said Albany Police Public Information Officer Steve Smith.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact police. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through the Capital Region Crime Stoppers.
