We finally saw temperatures warm up into the 70s on Thursday, the warming trend will continue into the weekend.

Fair skies and a light southerly breezy will make for a mild night, low temperatures will only drop to the 50s by daybreak on Friday. More sunshine and a gusty wind out of the south will push afternoon highs into the upper 70s to near 80.

More of the same for Saturday, but just a little bit warmer as afternoon temperatures reach into the low 80s for some of us.

All good things must come to an end, and our streak of sunny and warm days will give way to showers and thunderstorms on Sunday as an area of low pressure and a cold front sweep across the Carolinas. We’ll be keeping an eye on Sunday’s forecast; we could see severe storms across the region Sunday afternoon and into Sunday night.
