ALBANY, N.Y. -- National Crime Victims' Rights Week continues in Albany County.

Survivors, members of law enforcement and the district attorney's office held a ceremony Thursday. Dorie Giovannetti, a sexual abuse survivor, and Tom Stock, whose sister Amy was killed by a drunk driver, addressed the crowd.

Speakers say a lot of work has been done, but they will continue to push for more services and rights for victims.

"Look around, you're not alone. This is a time to celebrate progress achieved and raise awareness of victim's rights and services available to you all," said Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple.

Awards were also given to members of law enforcement. Among them was the Colonie Police Department Traffic Safety Division, which was honored for its work on recent cases.
