COLONIE, N.Y. -- Six people were arrested after a drug and gun bust at a Colonie motel.

Saratoga County sheriff's deputies and Colonie police arrested the suspects after executing a search warrant at the Golden Circle Motel Friday night.

Police say they found two illegal guns, one with the serial number scratched off, and drugs, including heroin and cocaine along with scales and packaging material.

Authorities say they're working on trying to stop drug dealers from setting up shop at local motels.

"Some of the cheaper priced motels in Colonie sometimes attract this kind of business, we are aware of it and it’s something we are continuously trying to address,” said Colonie Police Lieutenant Robert Winn.

All the suspects are charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a controlled substance and loitering.
