COLONIE, N.Y. -- Chocolate bunnies and eggs are always a part of the Easter tradition. This year, the spending for it is expected to be the second-highest on record.

With just hours until Easter, Krause's Homemade Candy in Colonie saw dozens of customers Saturday. Many were wrapping up their shopping by picking up some last minute candy.

Even with an early Easter, the store says this is still one of their strongest years.

“Easter is always a very busy season and this year has not disappoint us at all,” said Tom Krause, one of the owners of Krause’s Homemade Candy.

According to the National Retail Federation, an estimated $18.2 billion will be spent on Easter this year.
