The City of Albany is getting $12 million dollars as part of the new budget agreement.

Local leaders have been lobbying for the money, saying it's needed due to untaxed state properties in the region.

Assembly members Patricia Fahy and John McDonald released a joint statement:

“This budget signals that state leaders understand the needs of the City of Albany and the financial demands of being host to state government. With a total investment of $12 million for Albany, including $3 million in aid to localities funding, New York’s spending plan addresses the City’s current fiscal deficit and prevents cuts to essential services."
