Albany could soon play host to a national championship-caliber women's college basketball game.

The NCAA released its brackets for the upcoming women's basketball tournament Monday night, including the Albany Regional. The Albany bracket includes overall top tournament seed Connecticut, a program which has won 11 national championships -- four in a row between 2013-16. The No. 2 seed in the regional is South Carolina, last year's national champion.

Albany is slated to host regional semifinals and finals the weekend of March 24-26, and if the seeds hold, UConn would meet South Carolina for a spot in the Final Four.

One New York team is also in the Albany bracket, albeit as an underdog -- No. 11 seed Buffalo, who will meet South Florida in a first-round game.
