ALBANY, N.Y. -- The winter storm did not stop people from attending the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences annual Relay for Life Fundraiser.

Survivors and caretakers opened the event on Friday by walking two laps.

Then students and other participants joined in as teams set up games along the course.

Students say the amount of people participating says a lot about how the community comes together for a good cause.

"We're all so focused on tests, we're all so focused on getting good grades, but when we're supporting a good cause you'll really see people show up. I think we usually have 400 participants at the event and we're such a small school, so it's amazing," said Breanne Spear, a volunteer.
