GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. -- Parents addressed their concerns to both law enforcement and school administrators following a non-credible Gloversville shooting threat posted on social media over the weekend.

During a meeting Monday night, law enforcement along with school administrators talked about how Gloversville can prepare themselves for the worst.

The school district says they are looking into possibly making the windows safer in case of a shooter. Metal detectors were also part of the discussion, but school representatives rejected that suggestion.

Parents say a plan should have already been in place.

“Safety is a priority obviously that horrific event in Florida this is right on the heels of that and we wouldn't want anything like that happening here, so police involvement was a no brainier and safety is paramount of what we do,” Robert Delilli, Gloversville’s interim superintendent.

“It shouldn't take for something somewhere else to happen for this to happen we should be prepared for this at any given time, and I felt that Gloversville was not prepared for it any given time,” said Thomas Jackson, a Gloversville parent.

Police had an additional presence at the school Monday afternoon as a precaution.
