COLONIE, N.Y. -- Firefighters in Colonie responded to an early morning fire on Arcadia Court.

Authorities say it broke out just after 4 a.m. The fire started in the garage, spread to the back of the house next door.

Everyone escaped the two homes safely, but crews said knocking down the fire was difficult.

"Challenges. One of the houses reported ammunition in the house, so we had to take that into consideration. Just the way the one set of power lines was running into the house, the bulk of the fire was impinging right on the power line, so we had to take that into consideration,” said Colonie Fire Coordinator Michael Romano.

It's still unclear what exactly caused the fire.
