ALBANY, N.Y. -- From chocolate-covered strawberries to heart-shaped pizza, people around the Capital Region are whipping up treats and revving up business for the sweetest holiday of the year.

At the florist, preparations are well underway ahead of Valentine's Day which they say is their busiest time of year.

Employees at Lark Street Flower Market say they've processed more than 1,000 flowers, while SaraBella Pizza is perfecting the heart shape for a less traditional gift.

"Some people are really good about it they call ahead of time. They place their orders and they're stress free. But essential when we get here in the morning. They're doing a great job too there is a line through the store all day, phones are ringing off the hook last minute deliveries," said Katherine Russak, an employee at Lark Street Flower Market.

"I would think the ratio of people buying a heart-shaped pizza to regular pizza I would say 90 percent more heart-shaped than the regular circle pizza," said Joe Gritser, an employee at SaraBella Pizzeria.

If you're still looking for something special to do with your someone special there are a ton of events around the Capital Region including a Valentine's Day dinner at the Via Aquarium and a wine pairing experience at the Saratoga Winery.
