Albany County Executive Dan McCoy outlined his priorities and goals for this year during his annual State of the County Address.

New initiatives for 2018 include a plan to ensure that all county employees receive paid sick time, launching a task force for children in the foster care system, and building on green initiatives.

He also spoke about several national issues, including sexual harassment and DACA.

McCoy signed an executive order ensuring no harassment settlement in his administration would include a non-disclosure agreement.

As for DACA, Albany County has established a hotline to identify individuals who may still be eligible to extend their DACA status.

He said the county will do everything it can to protect "Dreamers."

"We cannot let that happen and here in Albany County,” said McCoy. “We will continue to give voice to those who want to be heard on immigration and who seek a pathway to citizenship."

McCoy also highlighted his work to fight the ongoing opioid crisis in the county including a recent federal lawsuit filed against pharmaceutical companies.
