RENSSELAER, N.Y. -- A late night fire in Rensselaer has displaced eight people.

The assistant fire chief says it started just after 10 p.m. on Broadway.

All eight people got out of the home safely.

Despite the ice and cold, crews say the fire that started on the second floor and took about 25 minutes to knock down.

The assistant fire chief says the home is salvageable and only suffered minimal damage.
