A Schenectady Police officer was charged with a domestic crime on Tuesday following a January domestic incident at a local college.
Lt. Mark McCracken is the former public information officer for the Schenectady PD. McCracken is charged with criminal contempt in the second degree.
According to court documents, McCracken violated a temporary order of custody and visitation that was signed on December 8. On January 7, documents say McCracken was in physical proximity to his wife, which violated that order. The incident took place at the Union College hockey rink.
McCracken was released on his own recognizance and is due back in court on January 31.
