ROTTERDAM, N.Y. -- Rotterdam police say they are continuing to search for a suspect in connection to a recent robbery at a ViaPort jewelry store. Cameras from inside the store show a man reach over into an open case and take four diamond rings. The items are valued at about $10,000.

Those who work at Jewels say the culprit has been to the store before, and on Friday, showed interest in buying a nameplate. His attention then went toward the diamond case.

"He took a whole rack. So we actually looked in the garbage cans to see if he tossed the rack and maybe get a print at first, but he didn't even toss the rack. He took it for a souvenir," says Chip Morrison, a sales representative at Jewels.

Rotterdam police have not released the name of the suspect and say the investigation is ongoing.
