The State Police in Monroe have arrested Yudah Zimmerman, 24, of Kiryas Joel, for leaving the scene after hitting an 8-year-old boy with his vehicle.

On November 9, 2016 at approximately 5 p.m., the State Police in Monroe responded to a hit-and-run incident on Siget Court in the Village of Kiryas Joel.  An 8-year-old boy was found unresponsive on the roadway after having been struck by a vehicle.  The vehicle had fled the scene prior to the arrival of police.  The boy was transported to Westchester Medical Center and treated for serious internal injuries. 

After an extensive investigation, State Police identified Yudah Zimmerman as the driver of the vehicle that stuck the child.  According to police, Zimmerman had been working as a delivery man in the area.
