ALBANY, N.Y. -- In Albany, there's a new way to get your favorite takeout food -- without ever leaving home.

Uber Eats is launching in the city of Albany. To use it, you download the Uber Eats app, and then order food from one of a dozen participating restaurants, like the Albany Pump Station and The Gateway Diner.

"It uses your existing Uber account so if you're already signed up with Uber all of your information is stored. You log in with your account," says Danielle Filson, Uber Spokesperson.

The Uber driver will then pick up your order and bring it to your house, your work, or wherever you find yourself hungry.

"We can go an hour and a half, an hour 45 minutes and have no rides and you're just kind of burning money at that point. This is a real good opportunity to just make some extra cash while you're out there and make the most of your time," says Jon Austin, a local Uber driver.

There is a $6 flat fee for deliveries through Uber. But the fee does not go to the driver -- so remember, to tip.
