Donations are being collected for victims following a massive fire in Cohoes. Jorja Roman has details on how you can help.

COHOES, N.Y. -- On Thursday, a massive fire burned through Remsen Street in Cohoes.

More than 100 firefighters battled the flames for hours and miraculously no one was seriously hurt.

The Cohoes community remains resilient despite the vast damage this massive fire caused.

The number of buildings damaged is now up to 31.

Demolition of some buildings began Friday evening and repairing damage to others hasn’t stopped since last night.

The Cohoes Community Center is accepting donations for anyone who was affected, including clothings and toiletries.

The Red Cross is helping 18 people- 16 adults and two children -- ages 1 and 10.

Curtis Hovey, the Executive Director of the Cohoes Community Center, says he’s been receiving messages on social media and nonstop phone calls from people wanting to help.

Mayor Shawn Morse says at this time monetary donations will be most helpful for victims.

You can donate at Pioneer Bank at the 22 locations throughout the Capital Region. Capital Communications Federal Credit Union (CAP COM) and Key Bank are also accepting donations for the victims.

A fundraiser is being planned by Awards by Walsh and Cohoes Bowling Arena. The event will be at the Cohoes Bowling Arena on December 16 and December 17 at 3 p.m. and Cohoes Strong t-shirts will be sold.
