CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. -- Ten people are displaced from their home Wednesday morning following a late night apartment building fire in Clifton Park.

Authorities say the fire broke out in a three-story building on Squire Lane just after 9 p.m. Tuesday night.

The fire was on the third fire of the building and firefighters were able to contain it to the apartment it originally broke out in.

Thankfully no one was injured.

"The fire appears to be from food on the stove at this point. There was heavy damage to the kitchen and living room area in that apartment, minor damage to the bedrooms and the rest of the building is pretty much smoke and some water damage," said Clifton Park Fire Department’s Art Hunsinger.

The Red Cross is assisting those displaced.
