Volunteers are hard at work prepping the food for 48th annual Equinox Thanksgiving Dinner. Assembly lines of cooks operated like a well-oiled machine Sunday.

Over the next five days, thousands of volunteers will help roast and carve nearly 13,000 pounds of turkey, serve meals at the Equinox Community Dinner, and even make home deliveries on Thanksgiving Day.

Volunteers will dish out nearly 10,000 meals to families across the Capital Region, putting in hundreds of hours of work. Organizers say helping people in need makes all the hard work well worth it.

Anyone who would like to request a meal can call the Thanksgiving Hotline at (518) 434-0131. The dinner will be located at the First Presbyterian Church in Albany from 1 – 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
