NASSAU, N.Y. -- State police have identified the person who was killed in a car crash in Nassau over the weekend.

According to troopers, 86-year-old William Winter from the Bronx was driving just after 5:30 p.m. on Saturday on Route 20 in Nassau.

They say for an unknown reason, Winter's car crossed over the yellow line and crashed into an oncoming car.

Winter was pronounced dead at the scene, his passenger 87-year-old Iris Winter was taken to the hospital for with fractured ribs and bruising.

The driver in the other car was taken to the hospital with chest, arm and knee pain.

No tickets have been issued at this time and charges have not been filed.
