Milana Lefebvre is a 7-year-old Ballston Lake girl. She fights battles far different than most children her age.

She suffers from seizures and scoliosis. She cannot walk or talk. Her parents Andy and Kristen say she doesn't have one over-arching diagnosis.

Milana needs constant care. She travels everywhere with her mother. For the Lefebvres, their vehicle is more than just the family van. Since it's the only car her wheelchair and car seat fit in, it's Milana's only mode of transportation.

For the last several months, they've been fundraising and saving up to buy a new wheelchair accessible van. Monday, the need for that became urgent. Around 3 a.m., strong winds caused a tree to topple down on the vehicle, destroying it.

This is the second time in just eight months that the Lefebvres are without a vehicle. They say the previous one died as they were driving down Route 9. The Lefebvres, though, are staying strong in the face of adversity. They say they are thankful the tree didn't hit their house and that no one was injured.

For now, the family will rent a vehicle. In the long term, they're hoping to get a fully accessible wheelchair van. If you're able to help, you can donate here.
