A plan to build to develop an area in Glenville is not moving forward.

Prime Companies proposed building a 228-unit building on 85 acres of land in Alplaus on Mohawk Avenue earlier this year, but Glenville Town Supervisor Chris Koetzle announced Tuesday the plan was withdrawn because of disagreements between the developer and the town regarding the project's density.

Residents had previously voiced concerns about the increase of traffic and the environmental issues.

There were also disagreements between the town and developers over the implementation of a payment in lieu of taxes, Koetzle said in a statement.

"I am proud of the work that this Town Board did to ensure a fair process for the applicant while also striving to protect the hamlet," he said.
