A blue-green algae bloom has developed at Lawson Lake County Park. The bloom may pose health problems to people and pets.

Right now, it's limited in size and is concentrated near the beach area.

Fishing and boating are still allowed, but you should rinse off any parts that come into contact with the bloom, with clean water and soap.

It is recommended that people not eat fish coming from the areas of dense blooms.

If anyone who experiences symptoms associated with exposure to the bloom, such as asthma or nausea, they should get away from the water and seek medical attention if needed.
