SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Our Ability was created by John Robinson as a way to get employers to hire people with disabilities. For the past five years, the group has taken its mission on the road.

Robinson, along with dozens of others, has been biking the Erie Canalway Trail from Buffalo to Albany. The trip is more than 350 miles and takes 12 days to complete.

"We all have ability and we all have dreams and we all want to do something. We needed people to follow us," says Robinson.

And people have followed them. On Thursday, Price Chopper/Market 32 announced the creation of a new $1,000 scholarship to help in Our Ability's mission.

"Basically, it will be designed and awarded annually to an individual with a disability that's attending college," says Mike Miller, the Price Chopper/Market 32 vice president of HR operations.

The scholarship will be presented in partnership with Our Ability. This year's ride began on June 26 and will end at Jennings Landing on July 7.
