LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. -- Authorities have identified the man who was found dead after falling off his paddleboard on Lake George.
Officials say 61-year-old Michael Butler III, who is from Patchogue, Long Island, was found early Saturday after originally being reported missing Friday evening around 6 p.m.
Police say he initially fell off his paddleboard about 40 yards from shore.
After calling off the search Friday night due to safety concerns, crews returned to the scene Saturday morning.
