A tractor trailer carrying 6,000 gallons of liquid manure crashed Monday in the Town of Westerlo.

It happened Monday morning on County Route 411. Police say the vehicle rolled over after the driver of the tractor trailer swerved to avoid hitting a deer in the road.

The driver had to be removed from the vehicle by Westerlo Fire Department. He was airlifted to the hospital and is in serious but stable condition.

The New York State Environmental Conservation was called to deal with the 3,000 gallons of manure that spilled.
