ALBANY, N.Y. -- The jury heard closing arguments Thursday after a brief trial against Tasheem Maeweather, the man accused of firing a gun inside Crossgates Mall last November.

Defense Attorney Lee Kindlon told the jury that the prosecution's case lacked evidence. He also questioned the testimony of the prosecution's key witness, New York State Police Trooper Ian DeGiovine. Kindlon says DeGiovine is mistaken about what he says he saw that day.

Assistant District Attorney Steve Sharp reviewed surveillance video with the jury during his summation. He also presented a trajectory, showing where the shooter was standing when the weapon was fired. Sharp showed the jury pictures of blood drOps on the mall floor, saying there was a victim in this shooting.

The jury will resume deliberations Friday morning.
