Friday is Give a Kid a Smile Day. On this day, dentists and hygienists go into schools and provide dental work to kids.

They help 45 schools throughout the Capital Region and reach almost 3,500 kids a year.

The care is at no cost to families and is done at school.

“It's a super service to the students and schools realize that. Unmet dental needs and dental decay is the number one chronic childhood illness and it's one that can be prevented,” said Rebecca Hoffay, with Seal a Smile.

This all works through a partnership with Whitney Young Health Center.
